Four Clongriffin Athletes Selected For Team Leinster At Tailteann Games

Four Clongriffin AC athletes have been selected to represent Team Leinster at this weekend’s prestigious Tailteann Games, which take place in Carlow on Saturday.

The Tailteann Games are one of the most historic competitions in Irish athletics, with origins dating back to the 1920s. The modern schools inter-provincial competition brings together the very best young athletes from across the four provinces, with only the top two athletes in each event selected to represent their province.

Selection for Team Leinster is therefore a significant achievement and recognition of an athlete’s performances throughout the schools season.

Clongriffin will be represented by:

Ella O’Dwyer (Belmayne ETSS)

Girls 800m

Ella has enjoyed another outstanding season and will line up against the best middle-distance athletes from across Ireland.

Patryk Pucek (Nessan’s Community College)

Boys High Jump

Fresh from his recent Irish Schools High Jump gold medal, Patryk will look to continue his excellent form in the Leinster colours.

Dylan Brennan (Malahide Portmarnock ETSS)

Boys 100m & 4x100m Relay

One of Leinster’s leading sprinters this season, Dylan has been selected for both the individual 100m and the relay squad.

Timur Ciparsons (Belmayne ETSS)

Boys Triple Jump

Timur’s consistent performances throughout the season have earned him selection in the Triple Jump, where he will compete against the top jumpers from the other provinces.

Representing your province is a special honour and reflects months of hard work, commitment and performance at the highest level of schools athletics.

Everyone at Clongriffin AC wishes Ella, Patryk, Dylan and Timur the very best of luck as they compete for Team Leinster in Carlow this Saturday.
