It was a gutsy run from Ella in the Girls u12 All-Ireland Cross Country in Donegal on Sunday. Part of the very strong 12 girl Dublin team, with only the Top 6 Dublin finishers getting a medal if the team managed to win, Ella pushed hard in the early stages of the race to put herself in with a medal shout.
The Dublin Team controlled the team race and ended up being All-Ireland champions. Thanks to her very committed run, Ella ended up being just 10 seconds short of the team medal slots, finishing 62nd overall of a field of over 180 starters.
Ella will be back in action this week, swapping her cross-country spikes for her indoor ones when she lines out with the club in the Athletics Live Relays this Thursday.
