Clongriffin AC will be strongly represented this weekend at the Juvenile All-Ireland Indoor Championships, with athletes competing across two days at Athlone International Arena.
Following a successful Dublin campaign, the club has qualified athletes across a wide range of events, reflecting both the depth and progression within the juvenile program.
Jumpers will be well represented with athletes in Triple Jump, Long Jump and High Jump action. Nikita Riecka (High Jump), Mark Khodzinskyy (Long Jump) and Robyn Berney (Long Jump) will make their All-Ireland Indoors individual debuts, while experienced jumpers such as Robin Harris (Long and High Jump), Aoife Ferguson (High Jump), Patryk Pucek (Long Jump), Timur Ciparsons (Long Jump), Sarah O’Halloran (Long Jump), Leon Keogh (High Jump), Niamh O’Farrell (Long Jump), Eva McArdle (Long Jump), Liliya Riecka (Triple Jump) and Sarah O’Farrell (Triple Jump) will also compete. Niamh O’Farrell became the club’s first winner of an All-Ireland Indoor medal in 2024 and returns to compete again in the event.
Sprinters and hurdlers will also be strongly represented across the age groups. Adam Conway (U16 60m & 200m), Dylan Brennan (U17 60m & 200m), Jaden Hagan-Frank (U17 200m), Keane Wosser (U17 200m, 400m & Hurdles) will compete in the older boys ages while Ava Kavanagh (U16 200m), Sophie Winkless (U16 Hurdles), Ella O’Dwyer (u16 200m) and Eva McArdle (U16 60m) will compete in the older girls ages. The Development pipeline athletes are also well represented with Quinn O’Dwyer (U13 60m & Hurdles), Etienne Cotter (U14 60m & Hurdles), Leon Keogh (U14 Hurdles) and Sarah O’Halloran (U13 Hurdles). Many of these athletes continue to build experience at national level while contributing strongly across multiple events. Ava, Etienne, Adam and Jaden make their individual debuts at All-Ireland level.
In the endurance events, the club will also have representation with Max Lyons (U15 800M) and Ella O’Dwyer (U16 800) while Lauren Ferguson lines out in the U17 1500m Walk. Mikey Hayden (U13 Shot Putt) will make his All-Ireland indoor debut, continuing the development of the throws group within the Club.
Looking at recent years, Clongriffin’s presence at these championships has grown significantly, with 29 finalists and 6 medalists in 2025 alone, underlining the steady upward trajectory of the club at national level from a position of just three finalists in 2022.
As always at juvenile level, the focus will be on executing well, gaining championship experience and continuing to build through each stage of the athlete pathway. With a strong mix of experienced competitors and debut athletes, the weekend promises to be another important step forward for the club.
