Silver For Patryk at National U20

The club was well represented at last weekend’s Irish U20 Indoor Championships, with athletes competing across a number of events and continuing to demonstrate the strong progress being made through the club’s athlete development pathway.

The highlight of the weekend came in the Men’s U20 High Jump, where Patryk Pucek delivered an excellent performance to take second place and set a new personal best of 1.90m. Patryk showed great consistency throughout the competition, clearing his early heights comfortably before successfully negotiating 1.90m to secure the silver medal. The new PB marks another step forward in what has been a very positive indoor season and reflects the steady progression that comes from consistent training and technical development.

There was also valuable championship experience gained in the Men’s U20 Triple Jump, where Timur Ciparsons competed in his first U20 Championships. After overcoming some early foul jumps in the competition, Timur responded very well to produce a composed final jump and ultimately finished 10th overall in a competitive field. The experience will stand to him as he continues to develop in the event at this level.

The club was also represented in the Men’s U20 4 x 400m Relay, where the quartet of Keane Wosser, Seb Ursachi, Ben Lyons and Jaden Hagan-Frank combined well to produce a strong team performance. The team ran a composed race across all four legs and finished 4th overall, just outside the medal positions, after a determined and well-executed effort. This team are all in the u17 age group and this is a step in their transition to racing at a higher level.

Overall, it was another encouraging championship outing for the club, highlighted by Patryk’s silver medal and personal best, alongside strong performances and valuable experience gained by all athletes involved.
