The Dublin Indoor Championships kicked off in the NIA today with 44 Clongriffin athletes competing across Sprints, Hurdles, Shot Putt, Long Jump and Walks. Aside from chasing Dublin medals or their own personal bests there is the reward of qualification for All-Ireland Indoors in March and April.
After a winter of consistent training it was a great opportunity for the athletes to test themselves in competition and the athletes did not disappoint with pretty much personal bests across the board. Hard work pays off and the cold and rainy sessions in Morton, Fr Collins Park and Belmayne are paying off.
Medals were also won with Patryk Pucek maintaining his long win streak of Jumps Golds in Dublin Championships with a long jump PB of 6.31. Robin Harris also took long jump gold, getting over the 5m mark for the first time. Ella O’Dwyer continued to show her versatility with Gold in the 200m, taking over a second off her PB.
There were silvers for for Lauren Ferguson (Walk), Etienne Cotter (60m Hurdles), Adam Conway (200m), Dylan Brennan (200m) and Timur Ciparsons (Long Jump). Bronze medals were claimed by Leon Keogh (60m Hurdles), Sophie Winkless (60m Hurdles), Keane Wosser (60m Hurdles), Jaden Hagan-Frank (200m), Hanna Kacperska (Long Jump), Mark Khodzinskyy (Long Jump) – on his club debut and Lily Nadolinska (Long Jump).

All this was backed up following athletes with Top 6 Placings and many more with big Personal Bests.
